Missouri Botanical Gardens (gewd night)

September 4 2011

We saw you!

Also, I like this picture a lot.

When I drive home from Rebecca’s at night, I take the backroads. In the field before the hill going up to the rear entrance to my neighborhood, I’ve noticed some serious lightning bug activity, and I’ve been meaning to try to photograph it.

Well anyway, all I had to use was a Canon 50mm f/1.8 prime lens, so I just tried various exposures at various apertures, sitting the camera on the hood of my car and using the “mirror lockup” custom function to prevent unnecessary shaking.

Brightness is a funny thing on monitors. I hope you guys can see these.

do american people eat fish and chips?

imagine i life without fish and chips :( that makes me sad

Not really… Americans are more beef eaters.

I can’t wait to have fish and chips again! That’ll be the first thing I do when I get back.

Rebecca and I ate that for lunch on Friday at Llewellyn’s Pub! Delicious.

Another day of classes canceled. I even did my homework last night because I was so sure we’d have school today!

STL area campuses are closed-DAY classes canceled. NIGHT class status will be announced later today. www.webster.edu/alerts

And… back to bed.

Are you a weatherman in St. Louis?

Because, seriously, how did you guys screw this up so badly?

It seems as though the entire city screeched to a halt for about 3 inches of sleet and one-and-a-half feet of invisible snow.

Well, it looks like my naysaying has been misguided. The snow forecast has more than doubled, and this from Webster:

Due to inclement weather the STL area campuses are closed today (2/1).

Anyway, back to bed. Snowpocalypse, snowmageddon, etc.

I just profiled this organization for an assignment in one of my classes, and they seem really rad. Check out their website if you get the chance.
